OPCIÓN 1 –BANI (Región Sur) La gira incluye la visita a una importante planta de procesamiento y empaque de vegetales y frutales, seguida por la visita a fincas productoras de mango y aguacate, tanto bajo la modalidad de producción convencional, como de producción orgánica. Se incluye un recorrido y almuerzo por la Estación Experimental del Instituto Dominicano de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales dedicada a frutales. El almuerzo se servirá en las acogedoras facilidades de la Estación Experimental. En la continuación de la Gira, se observará una plantación de mangos manejada por pequeños agricultores, utilizando tecnología moderna de producción. Se concluirá con una visita a Las Dunas de Baní y la Playa Punta Salinas, un importante centro de producción de sal marina.
Sobre Baní
A sólo una hora en coche de la capital. Playas tranquilas, un pueblo constituido por multicolores casitas de madera de un piso, edificios de estilo colonial modernista y la Plaza de la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla, alrededor de la cual se reúnen restaurantes y deliciosas tiendecitas de artesanía local. Tomando la carretera que va hacia el oeste encontraremos Playa Baní, las solitarias playas de Las Salinas y Palmar de Ocoa con una arena gris plomo. De Baní parten aún las excursiones para visitar las cercanas salinas y las escenográficas dunas formadas de arena, únicas en el Caribe, con más de 50.000 años de formación y en la que descansan culturas antiguas y procesos históricos que no han sido estudiados.
En las dunas habita, además, la mariposa monarca, una especie protegida en el mundo; anfibios, reptiles, aves y una especie de pez, única en el mundo. 7:00 A.M.

OPCIÓN 2 – CONSTANZA (Región Norte)
Valle intramontano de origen lacustre, ubicado en la Cordillera Central, localizado a 1200 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Tiene un clima latitudinal o de montaña, donde se registra un promedio de temperatura anual de 18 grados centígrados. Constanza posee una alta producción de repollo, ajíes, brócoli, coliflor, flores, ajo, papas, fresas y otros cultivos de clima templado. Constanza, es un paraíso terrenal de la República Dominicana. 7: 00 A.M.

SALIDA HACIA SANTO DOMINGO
Viernes, 14 de Octubre SANTO DOMINGO Esta Gira incluirá la visita a dos modernos viveros de plantas ornamentales localizados en las cercanías de la Ciudad de Santo Domingo. El almuerzo se servirá en el ambiente natural del Jardín Botánico Nacional, que estará presentando su Segundo Festival de Plantas y Flores. Al salir del Jardín Botánico se realizará un recorrido por la ciudad, con parada en la Zona Colonial de la Primera Ciudad del Nuevo Mundo.
Santo Domingo de Guzmán, fundada por Don Bartolomé Colón, Ilustrísimo Gobernador de las Tierras de Fronteras en el año 1496, es la ciudad más antigua del nuevo mundo y su zona colonial fue declarada por la UNESCO en el año 1990 "Patrimonio de la Humanidad". Una ciudad moderna y cosmopolita, que conserva en su parte antigua más de trescientos monumentos coloniales preservados con gran celo, para que al visitarlos hagamos una abstracción y podamos ver a Don Diego Colón y a Doña María de Toledo con las damas y escuchar la historia del cacique Enriquillo, "Hombre Justo y Digno" que aprobó el Primer Tratado de Paz de América entre indios y españoles. La ciudad colonial
Construida en 1502 por Nicolás de Ovando, es la parte de la ciudad más antigua y rica en monumentos. A lo largo de la calle de las Damas encontrarán el Fuerte del Homenaje, llamado también La Fortaleza, la más antigua del nuevo mundo; la Casa de Bastidas es el Palacio de los Capitanes; la Casa de Ovando, célebre por su puerta de entrada de estilo gótico-isabelino, única en el mundo. La Plaza de España está dominada por el Alcázar de Colón, la vivienda de Diego, el hijo de Cristóbal Colón: palacio de estilo gótico-mudéjar en el que la exuberante vegetación tropical que lo rodea exalta su belleza.
En la calle de Isabel la Católica está la Catedral de Santa María la Menor, Primada de América, uno de los monumentos simbólicos de la isla, el Palacio de Borgellá, las imponentes Ruinas de San Francisco, la Casa de Duarte y la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara. Paseando por la calle Padre Billini podremos admirar la Iglesia Regina Angelorum, construida hace más de 200 años, la Casa del Tapao, un misterioso hombre enmascarado, la Iglesia de los Dominicos, sede de la primera Universidad de América, la Casa del Tostado, la Iglesia de Santa Clara y la Casa de la Moneda, entre otros monumentos. 7:00 A.M.

OPTION 1 – BANI (Southern Region)
The field tour includes the visit to an important food processing plant, especialized in fruits and vegetables. The next stop will be at mangoes and avocadoes farms. The trip includes the visit to a Fruits Experiment Station operated by the Dominican Agricultural and Forestry Research Institute (IDIAF), where a luncheon will be offered to the participants. After lunch the group will stop at a small farmers mangoes project using modern production technology. To end the day, the group will pay a visit to the unique BanÍ Sand Dunes system, and Salina Tip beach, an impressive tropical beach, and important sea salt production site.
About Baní
Only an hour's car ride from the capital. Peaceful beaches, a town made of multicoloured, single-storied wooden houses, buildings of a modernist colonial style and the Plaza de la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla, the village square thronged by restaurants and delightful shops of local handicrafts. Taking the road leading westwards from the town we come to Playa Baní and other secluded beaches like Las Salinas and Palmar de Ocoa with lead-grey sand. From Baní we can set out on a trip to visit the nearby salt flats and the scenic sand dune systems, unique in the Caribbean ; they have taken over 50,000 years to form and enshrine ancient cultures and historical processes that have still to be studied.
The dunes are also home to the Monarch butterfly, a species protected all the world over, amphibians, reptiles, birds and a species of fish that is unique in the world.

OPTION 2 – CONSTANZA (Northern Region)
Constanza is an Inter mountainous valley of lacustrine origin. It is located in around 1200 meters above sea level, in the Central Range , which has the highest elevation in the Caribbean . Average temperature is around 18 grades centigrade. Constanza produces excellent garlic, broccoli, cabbage, potatoes, flowers, strawberry, and other temperate crops. Constanza is a paradise.

SANTO DOMINGO
This tour will include the visit to two modern garden nursery and commercial production facilities located nearby the city of Santo Domingo . The lunch will be offered in the natural environment of the National Botanical Garden , which will be holding its Plants and Flowers Second Festival. Departing from the Botanical Garden, a city tour will be offered to the participants, with a stop at Colonial Zone of the first city in the New World .
About Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo de Guzmán, founded by Bartolomeo Columbus, Governor of the Frontier Lands in 1496, is the oldest city of the new world. In 1990 its colonial area was declared by UNESCO to be a "World Heritage Site". It is a modern and cosmopolitan city that has conscientiously preserved over three hundred colonial monuments in its oldest part. Here we can give our imaginations free rein and summon up images of Diego Columbus and his wife María Álvarez de Toledo with their dames and hear the story of the cacique Enriquillo, "A just and worthy man" who approved the First Peace Treaty of America between the Indians and the Spanish.
The colonial city
Built in 1502 by Nicolás de Ovando, this is the oldest part of the city, rich in sights to see. Along the Calle de las Damas stands the Fuerte del Homenaje, also known as La Fortaleza, the oldest fort of the new world; the Casa de Bastidas is the Palacio de los Capitanes; the Casa de Ovando, famous for its Isabelline-Gothic style entrance door, is unique in the world.
The Plaza de España is dominated by the Alcázar de Colón, the home of Diego, son of Christopher Columbus: a palace with a Mudejar-Gothic style whose intrinsic beauty is further enhanced by the lush tropical plantlife surrounding it.
In the Calle de Isabel la Católica stands the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, Primate of the Americas , one of the island's symbolic monuments, the Palace of Borgellá , the striking ruins of San Francisco , the Casa del Duarte and the Church of Santa Bárbara . Strolling along Calle Padre Billini we can admire new sights such as the Church Regina Angelorum, built over 200 years ago, la Casa del Tapao, an enigmatic masked man, the Church of los Dominicos, site of America's first university, the Casa del Tostado, the Church of Santa Clara and the Casa de la Moneda or mint.
